Elective Seminar Course Research Methods in Ethno-micology

The Doctorate in Ethno-biology and Bio-cultural Studies, the Seedbed of Ethno-biology Students and the Latin American Ethno-botanical Group GELA Colombia, carry out the Elective Seminar Course on Research Methods in Ethno-micology, which begins on January 22, 2020 and ends on the 24th of the same month . Registration until January 15, 2020.

 

The course that will take place at the Faculty of Health Sciences is directed by Aida Marcela Vasco Palacios, professor at the School of Microbiology at the University of Antioquia, Curator of the microorganism collection of the University of Antioquia (CM-EM-UdeA ) .PhD. in Biology (2016). Biology, University of Utrecht / The Fungal Biodiversity Center (CBS-KNAW), The Netherlands. M.Sc. in Biology (2007).

 

Ethno-micology is a line of ethno-biology, which studies the relationships between societies and wild fungi, exploring traditional knowledge and practices of use and cultural management for the conservation of their biodiversity and sustainability as an alternative for food production in local communities. .

 

With few studies in the country and in Cauca, this II theoretical-practical course aims to address theoretical aspects of entomology, identify qualitative and quantitative tools, design various tools for the collection of ethno-micological data and instruct on general techniques of collection, preservation, identification and cultivation of fungi.

Once the requirements have been submitted, if selected, readings prior to the course will be sent.
