Permanent Seminar Philosophy in the City

La Universidad - to

The Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Cauca, through its ARKHE Seedbed attached to the Department of Philosophy and the Ethics, Political and Legal Philosophy research group, had been working in person at the Permanent Philosophy Seminar in the City, in the Guillermo León Valencia House Museum, with the purpose of convening the citizens of Popayán and the academics of the various universities that have headquarters in this city, to observe, analyze and reflect on the good or bad practices of the citizens and develop a pedagogical proposal aimed at the education of political subjects who interact on a daily basis, in public spaces, so that a culture of peace and for peace can be built.

The objective that guides the work of the virtual platform, Philosophy in the City, can be described as the need to go to the academics of national and foreign universities so that, from their current perception, in the space and time that we are living of the COVID 19 pandemic, reflect from their knowledge and theoretical-political training, on issues related to the concepts of citizen, citizenship, urban and non-urban societies, public policies, etc., participating in this academic space that we open to all people interested in these issues and let us enter into a kind of discussion that allows us to hear our voices, other voices, about what a shift towards a reconfiguration of the city, citizenship and human rights can mean.
