La Universidad -

With the authorization of the Superior Council and the regulation of the Academic Council, the University of Cauca advances the amnesty process aimed at students of the undergraduate and postgraduate programs who for academic reasons had to abandon their studies. Applications will be received between March 9 and April 30.

It is about the approval of a request from the rectory before the Superior Council and the Academic Council, thus responding to the clamor of the parents of a significant number of students who have been withdrawn for academic reasons. In this way, the rector of the University of Cauca, José Luis Diago Franco, described this important news as the academic amnesty process that is being carried out in the institution, and which will provide the opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to return to their studies in order to complete them satisfactorily.

This decision, which will have a positive impact on the permanence and graduation indicators, covers students who had to abandon their studies between the 1st academic period of 2009 and the 2nd academic period of 2019 in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

With this process, the University Directorate expects to consult the requirements and approved schedules for this process on the institutional web portal www.unicauca.edu.co, access the information and make the decision to return to the university to finish their studies.

“We are committed so that this benefit reaches the largest number of students who should have abandoned their studies and now have the opportunity to continue them. The purpose of the amnesty process is to pay off a social debt that the institution has and at the same time to advance in the construction of territorial peace, "said the rector.

Finally, he sent a thanks to the Superior Council for the approval of the initiative and to the Academic Council for the regulations, which gives the University Directorate more commitment to continue working for the Universidad del Cauca.
