The situation of confinement in which we find ourselves has made us change our lifestyle, it is now more important than ever that we continue to be active and do physical exercise. It is for this reason that the Vice-Rectory of Culture and Well-being through its Unicauca “Activa de Corazón” program makes a variety of activities available to the university community and the general public through the Institution's social networks.

The cultural manager, William Mauna Rivera, states that through this program physical activity is promoted on the social networks of the University of Cauca, in two conditioning sessions on Monday and Thursday at 5:30 in the afternoon. Another of these activities is the family sports dance on Tuesdays and Fridays and the family playing session that takes place on Fridays and weekly the online chess tournament.

"We plan to develop the first marathon of physical exercise in three categories: the first family category of low intensity exercises, the second intermediate with moderate exercises and the third high intensity with elite category exercises. All categories will have an instructor of the Division of Management of Recreation and Sport ", adds the Culture Manager of the University.

The promotion of physical activity and its health benefits through audiovisual pieces is another of the activities that achieve great impact on the social networks of the Universidad del Cauca. “We must take into account to carry out physical activity: How should we warm up before, how should we stretch before and after practice, and how should we hydrate before, during and after physical activity. We have also been developing virtual workshops on the Meet platform on physical activity articulated with the Psychology area”, adds Juli Andrea Muñoz, cultural manager.

We invite you to stay tuned to this and after activities on the Fan Page of the University of Cauca and on its YouTube channel.
