With assistance personnel, the University of Cauca, through the ‘Alfonso López’ University Health Center, participated in the first vaccination day that took place on Saturday, February 20 in Popayán.

Following a request from the Popayán Health Secretariat, three members of the 'Alfonso López' University Health Center of the University of Cauca participated in the first day of vaccination against COVID19 that took place in the city, specifically at the San Jose University Hospital.

The participation of the university personnel was concentrated in the application of the vaccines, in the registration of the information to the system created for this purpose by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and in the support in the actions of compliance with the biosafety and well-being protocol created for this day.

"It fills us with joy to know that we have contributed to give something back to all the effort made by frontline Health personnel, within the framework of the municipal campaign 'Popayán gets vaccinated', accompanying this process with our knowledge and experiences", indicated the Director of the 'Alfonso López' University Health Center, Omaira Espinosa Aguilar.

According to the Director, the staff of this agency is trained not only for the application of the vaccine but also for the registration of information in the software created by the National Government to control this process in the country.

She finally stressed that the ‘Alfonso López’ University Health Center is willing to continue supporting the next days of vaccination against COVID19 as provided by the entities in charge of coordinating this activity.

According to the Director, the staff of this agency is trained not only for the application of the vaccine but also for the registration of information in the software created by the National Government to control this process in the country.

Finally, she stressed that the ‘Alfonso López’ University Health Center is willing to continue supporting the next days of vaccination against COVID19 as provided by the entities in charge of coordinating this activity.
