Diploma in Communication, Peace and Coexistence is presented

As part of the celebration of the National Journalist Day organized by the Government of Cauca with the University of Cauca, the presentation of the Diploma in Communication, Peace and Coexistence was held, which will be aimed at journalists from institutions and media in the department.

 

In two modules, one in Peace and Coexistence and the other in Journalistic Narratives, the presentation of the Diploma in Communication, Peace and Coexistence organized by the University of Cauca in coordination with the Government of Cauca, and which is scheduled to begin on Friday 26 of February.

 

The course will have a duration of 120 hours, it will be held virtually, during which time topics such as violence and the armed conflict in Colombia, negotiation and peace building, democracy, violence and peace will be discussed. Peace Agreement (2016) and the post-agreement, Current Peace Proposals. On the subject of journalistic narratives, narratives and the media ecosystem, digital tools and journalism in digital media will be discussed.

 

These modules will be guided by university professors and experts in the topics to be discussed, who will provide the necessary bases and tools so that the participants at the end of the Diploma present a journalistic product which will be disseminated in different media.

 

"With the Government of Cauca we join forces on this important date, organizing a diploma course for the training of journalists on the subject of communication, coexistence and peace, as a complement to the Cauca’s Pact for life, human rights and Peace", indicated the rector of the University of Cauca. In the same way, he expressed greetings to all journalists and social communicators, recognizing that thanks to his work the world is informed and makes decisions.

 

The Governor of Cauca, Elías Larrahondo Carabalí, thanked the journalists for their responsibility and commitment in fulfilling their mission in society, and called on them to strengthen the visibility of the positive issues that the department has, showing its tourist, agro-ecological, wealth, gastronomic, not just violent events.

 

“We believe that Cauca has the right to live in peace, and as journalists, you play the role of informing, communicating and socializing; for this reason, my thanks and invitation to be part of the diploma, an academic tool aimed at deepening their experiences and trajectories ”, stated the rector.
