The Ministry of National Education renewed for seven more years the Qualified Registry for the Master's Degree in Management of Organizations and Research Projects of the University of Cauca.

 

After verifying the excellent academic results, the organization, operation, the means and processes used and the fulfillment of its social function, the Ministry of National Education through Resolution 222 of January 4, 2021, made public the renewal of the Qualified Registration in face-to-face modality in Popayán, to the Master's program in Management of Organizations and Research Projects of the Faculty of Accounting, Economic and Administrative Sciences of the Alma Mater Cauca.

 

The University of Cauca proposed to the Education Portfolio to modify the periodicity of the admission of this postgraduate program, which was annual and now is each cohort, that is, every two years. The Master to date has 4 cohorts, in the first 22 students focused on Research; another, made up of 25 people with an emphasis on deepening; in the second, 20 students also dedicated themselves to research; In the third cohort there are 23 students and the fourth, which started a fortnight ago, is made up of 19 students; all work through remote classes due to the health emergency generated by the Coronavirus.

 

Precisely, the first cohort of this Master's Degree began in February 2014, when the MEN granted it the Qualified Registry for seven years that expired in 2021; For this reason, Alma Mater carried out two self-evaluation processes two and four years ago, stated Reinaldo Erazo Rodríguez, Coordinator of the Master's Degree.

 

The Master's Degree in Accounting from the Autonomous University of Mexico said that, in the course of those seven years, the Master's degree carried out two self-evaluation processes. As a result of this work, the Program presented a report with the support of the Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation, as well as professors, directors of the Faculty of Accounting, Economic and Administrative Sciences, research groups, graduates, students and administrative; As a result of the articulation with these actors, the MEN renewed the Qualified Registry in January 2021.

 

“The approval by the Ministry of Education of our proposed modification to this program means that the State trusts the University of Cauca and the Master's Degree in Management of Organizations and Projects, in which we continue to evaluate the aspects that must be improved to obtain in two or three years, the Accreditation of High Quality as a program,”emphasized the Teacher.

 

Regarding the aspects that should be improved in this specialization in research, Professor Erazo indicated that the students of this graduate program work all week and study on Fridays and Saturdays, which prevents them from receiving the benefits of the programs of culture and well-being, so the University must make an additional effort to include them in the culture, sports and recreation activities that undergraduate students have.

 

In the normative part, the educational project of this program must be consolidated and directed for the next seven years authorized by the National Government to continue with the process of continuous improvement and thus honor the promise of qualifying human talent for the region and society.

 

This academic exercise is of utmost importance for the Faculty of Accounting, Economic and Administrative Sciences and for the University, because it makes it possible to make visible organizations and people who develop research projects and deepen these fields of knowledge.
