Entrepreneurship proposal led by Unicauca’s teacher selected as one of the best in the world

The project of entrepreneurship of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, Andrés Felipe Escallón Portilla, was selected as one of the 10 best worldwide presented in the First Call of the Contest: Global Entrepreneurship Challenge, organized by the 2019 University Foundation of Madrid Spain)

 

“Intelligent Prototype Positioning System, Guide and Navigation in Indoor Scenarios for People with Visual Limitations” is the name of the venture led by the professor of the University of Cauca Andrés Felipe Escallón Portilla, whose objective is the promotion of actions that improve quality of life of people with disabilities, with a new program that seeks to promote the social inclusion of said population.

 

“The entrepreneurship is based on a proposal for a doctoral training project that is expected to be executed from the II semester of 2020 in the Doctorate in Electronics Sciences, with the support of the R&D Group in New Technologies in Telecommunications (GNTT) and the Radio and Wireless Group (GRIAL), belonging to the Department of Telecommunications of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications of the University of Cauca, under the direction of Víctor Manuel Quintero Flórez and José Giovanny López Perafán ”, said Engineer Andrés Felipe Escallón Porthole.

 

The proposal that was selected as one of the 10 best entrepreneurship projects in the world presented in the First Call of the Contest: Global Entrepreneurship Challenge, organized by the 2019 Universia Foundation in Madrid (Spain), will enable the Escallón Portilla teacher to be a beneficiary of a 3-month free license on the Bridge for Billions entrepreneurship platform where you can count on the advice and support of mentors specifically selected in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship according to the needs of your project, to get your ideas and projects underway.

 

“Bridge for Billions is an online incubation program where entrepreneurs are helped to transform their idea into a viable business plan in just three months. The methodology they apply integrates the best of the training programs for entrepreneurs at Stanford, MIT and Carnegie Mellon universities,”said the professor.
