A group from Unicauca is organizing the forum on peace building.

The Tuto González Student Group organizes the forum 'Analysis and perspectives on dialogue and peace building in Colombia' on September 4 in the building of the School of Health Sciences.

César Cortés Gualdrón will participate with the presentation "Origin and causes of political, social and armed conflict in Colombia' and Jonathan Centeno spokesman for the Social and Political Movement: Patriotic March will conduct a presentation about constitutional processes for political solution and peace with social justice in Colombia.

Also, there will be a videoconference with a spokesman for the FARC for peace contextualization of the dialogues between the government and the insurgent movement.  Finally, a panel on peace prospects and challenges of civil society by Christhian Hurtado, a Speaker of the House of Peoples and the delegate of the University of Cauca.

According to Alejandro Salazar, a member of the student organization, theme of peace will be studied form academic perspectives as one of the fundamental aspects of the national and international debate.

"We seek to spread the debate about the importance of comprehensive understanding of the social, political and armed conflict since its inception within the University, with the purpose of contributing to the construction of Peace with Social Justice from the academy," he said.

The Coordinator hoped that the recognition of the structural causes of conflict and exchange of different views and opinions about the Dialogues of Peace, is a contribution to debate on the construction of social justice.
