The PhD in Telematics Engineering at the University of Cauca will be awarding its first PhD graduates with a special recognition.

According to Alvaro Rendon Gallon, director of the graduate program, it reinforces the quality of the program which was recognized as a Doctoral program of excellence by Colciencias.

"In both cases, the jurors unanimously agreed to request a special recognition for the Doctoral Theses, considering the high quality of the work and that the students have publications in journals and JCR A1" he said.

Wilmar Yesid Campo, defended his thesis ' Traffic model for interactive services in a Virtual Academic Community, with Audio content and high quality video” directed by Dr. José Luis Arciniegas and co-directed by Dr. Roberto Garcia of the University of Oviedo.

The public act of Doctoral Thesis Defense took place on April 25 in room 228 ​​of the School of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunications in front of the  following jury:

• Dr. David Melendi Palacios, University of Oviedo ( Spain )

• Dr. Sandra Aguirre, Universidad de los Andes.

• Dr. Gustavo Ramirez , Universidad del Cauca.

 

José Armando Córdoba Ordóñez defended his work 'composition and automatic execution of converged services focused on the end user' , led by Dr. Juan Carlos Corrales from the Department of Telematics.

The public act of Doctoral Thesis Defense took place on April 30 in front of the following judges:

• Dr. Leandro Krug Wives , Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul UFRGS ( Brazil )

• Dr. Jaime Alberto Guzmán Luna, National University of Colombia at Medellín.

• Dr. Alvaro Rendon Gallon, University of Cauca.
