The Physical Therapy Program presented a Healthy University strategy during the Week of Healthy Habits and Lifestyles.

During the event, students, accompanied by academic program faculty, conducted Cardiovascular Screening for individuals over 18 years old. They provided education on oral health, mental health, sleep hygiene, proper nutrition, and physical activity habits.

As part of the Week of Healthy Habits and Lifestyles held from September 25th to 29th, the Physical Therapy Program at the University of Cauca joined the national campaign under the Healthy University strategy, aligning with activities from the Departmental Health Secretariat of Cauca.

Similarly, on Monday, September 25th, at the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Physical Therapy program participated in this national initiative, engaging in community intervention practices within the 5th semester, focusing on public health management led by Professor Ángela María Rengifo, and the elective course on Public Health and Intercultural aspects of Physiotherapy led by professors Franklin René Patiño Galindes and Yaneth Guerrero Isaza.

The activity had student involvement, where they conducted Cardiovascular Screening for individuals over 18 years old, provided education on oral health, mental health, sleep hygiene, proper nutrition, and physical activity habits. They also calculated cardiovascular risk, educated on strategies to reduce sedentary behavior, and transform unhealthy lifestyles.

In Popayán, the event led by the Departmental Health Secretariat of Cauca featured spaces with information on physical activity, healthy eating, prevention of tobacco and alcohol consumption, oral health, and mental health. Additionally, there was identification of cardiovascular and metabolic risks through the strategy "Know your risk, healthy weight."
