With the signing of the cooperation agreement, different actions aimed at strengthening citizen culture will be sought through academic, research, innovative and cultural issues in Popayán.

 

Between the University of Cauca and the Municipality of Popayán, a cooperation agreement was signed that seeks to join efforts to establish and regulate inter-institutional relations aimed at developing activities of mutual interest, academic, research, innovation, social appropriation of knowledge, development of projects, of social projection, that ensure the general development of the mission objectives of both entities, for the benefit of the community and its areas of influence.

 

 “With the signing of this agreement, the University of Cauca and the Mayor's Office of Popayán, we acquire clear, respectable commitments and we have great desires and expectations to start working and becoming citizens with other institutions and entities such as ASIES Cauca, which brings together all the universities present in the capital of Cauca, because citizenship is built without exclusions, with pluralism and that all voices are welcome, ”said the president of the University of Cauca, José Luis Diago Franco.

 

This alliance was formalized with the signing of the agreement by the president of the University of Cauca, José Luis Diago Franco and the Mayor of Popayán, Juan Carlos López Castrillón, with the presence of executives of the two entities, seeking the realization of joint activities that contribute to the construction of the Development Plan for the city.

 

The agreement refers to the participation of the two entities in issues such as:

 

1. Construction of a strategic plan and an action plan, which may contain, among others, the following topics:

 

- Prospective of the parties

 

- Construction of public policies

 

- Support in the Territorial Planning Plan

 

- Provide support in the Municipal Educational Strategic Plan

 

- Facilitate support in the structuring and promotion of the educational cluster

 

- Support in the Implementation and Creation of a university free zone with a technological and business base.

 

- Presentation of studies, projects and research

 

- Implementation of spaces for student welfare (sports fields, bus infrastructure, canteens, university accommodation, public libraries for all students, free WIFI areas).

 

- Execution in the implementation of Student Events Center.

 

- Positioning of institutional strategies through the media.

 

2. Realization of agreements of academic practices for the development of the different modalities of work of degree and / or use of the volunteer for guardians and protectors of city, patrimony and environment of the Municipality of Popayán, in accordance with the internal university regulations.

 

3. Development of activities for promotion, research, social innovation, entrepreneurship and planning.

 

4. The exchange of experiences, services and practical information of common utility.

 

5. Training and mutual support based on the missionary strengths of each of the parties.

 

6. The others that may be derived from the object of this agreement, in projects of common interest.
