Presidents of the University Network of Popayán met with executives of RENATA

The president of the Universidad del Cauca, José Luis Diago Franco, along with other directors of public and private institutions of higher education in the capital of Cauca, met Tuesday with staff from the National Academic Network of Advanced Technology RENATA, in order to address issues related to strengthening synergies.

 

According to Leonardo Rodríguez, RENATA executive director, the meeting allowed RENATA to offer new features of the service, to address the president's items related to the development of the University Network in Popayán, "inviting them to start a collaborative work not only the national level but international with other universities having the possibility of publicizing and sharing research processes that can originate from Cauca. "

 

Rodríguez stressed that the exchange with other institutions worldwide makes it possible for initiatives to advance in a rapid manner, reaching all the technological developments in terms of their subject matter, and making them available to all who are academically trained.

 

Isabel Ramírez Mejía, president of the Corporación Universitaria Comfacauca, Unicomfacauca, said that these types of meetings allow us to evaluate the work being carried out as a network to generate new ideas.

 

"We joined the presidents for 10 years in favor of the University Network of Popayán looking for benefits in terms of connectivity, and today we took stock of the connectivity we have with RENATA to make decisions for the future," he said.

 

On the other hand, Professor Héctor Sánchez Collazos, president of the Cauca Higher Education Institution, said that it is also worth noting that these spaces allow to maintain "forces united amongst all the universities" and "to remove some barriers, where between academic directives we can continue to make mutual efforts for the struggle of education."
