The rector of Unicauca, Dr. Juan Diego Castrillon Orrego, called the academic mission as a learning experience for the Colombian university.   The mission happened last week in Turkey, with the support of the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During this activity, they visited nine Turkish universities: three private institutions and six public universities, located in the cities of Ankara and Istanbul.  The commission learned the level of development that they have and the support that they receive to strengthen academic, research and relationship with the environment.

"There are issues such as internationalization, research and academic training that position the Turkish higher education system in high quality standards worldwide," said the Rector of the University of Cauca.

He added that these experiences would be socialized in the different spaces within the university bodies, analyzing the growing challenges to strengthen not only the university but also our system of higher education through cooperation and exchange.

Fourteen rectors of different Colombian universities that have institutional accreditation participated in this academic mission 14, as well as representatives from Icetex, the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
