Student from the North Headquarters stood out with a presentation at the Pre-Congress on Procedural Law: justice and process

José Fernando Cortez Hurtado, student of the Law program at the North Campus of the University of Cauca, had an outstanding participation in the Regional meeting of Researchers and Seed Growers, called "Need for proof versus violation of the Right to privacy", in the framework of the Pre-Congress on Procedural Law: Justice and Process, organized on May 11 at the facilities of the San Buenaventura University.

The academic event, which had more than 1,000 attendees, was carried out thanks to the initiative of the Colombian Institute of Procedural Law and the Center for Thought "Law, State and Society" of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the Universidad San Buenaventura de Cali, with the aim of promoting a space for legal updating, deepening and understanding of Procedural Law.

Thus, José Fernando Cortez Hurtado, a ninth-semester student of the Law program at the North Headquarters of our Alma Mater, participated, within the framework of the pre-congress, in the Regional meeting of Researchers and Seedbeds called "Need for evidence versus violation of the Right to Privacy", with his presentation on "The importance of reflecting that weighting as a method to resolve the collision between two fundamental rights or principles, can give an arbitrary result by the judges".

For Cortez Hurtado, "The experience was really gratifying, at first with nerves, like any person who is going to address such a big stage, but with the messages from my teachers like Silvia Romero, Ilario Núñez and Andrea Viveros I felt more don't worry".

It should be noted that to carry out the construction of the paper, a study group was formed, where the students also participated: Carolina Fernández, Andrés Felipe Cogollo, Iván Carabalí and Rosa María Zúñiga, interested in the research.

In this way, the joint work of students and teachers resulted in important and positive comments by experts on the subject and by some magistrates who were present. “I realized that there is a lot of talent at the northern campus of the University of Cauca, since we were with speakers from renowned universities in Cali, that seemed very significant to me. I hope that the University continues to support this type of space for the Students of Santander de Quilichao”, pointed out Cortez Hurtado.

Finally, from the University of Cauca we are very proud of the fruits that are being achieved thanks to the commitment and motivation of the students, and we take advantage of this space to highlight the constant academic performance of the North Headquarters of our Alma Mater. Many congratulations to José Fernando and to all those involved in this remarkable participation that fills our hearts because we know that they continue to raise the colors of this house of studies in which we faithfully believe that education transforms lives: this is how we also strengthen a University of Excellence.
