Third version of the Young Tourism Meeting, a space for the socialization of tourism enterprises in Cauca

With the slogan Take a risk to undertake!, The students of the Tourism program of the University of Cauca held the virtual event that reflected on the importance of this sector in the current situation that Colombia and the world are experiencing.

With the aim of publicizing initiatives of tourism enterprises of different members of the Program, students of the X semester of Tourism of the University of Cauca carried out on December 10 of the current year version number three of the Young Tourism Meeting; this time with the slogan Take a risk to undertake!

 

The event, which this year was developed in a virtual way due to the situation in Colombia and the world, is carried out under the coordination of Professor María Fernanda Moreno Prado, within the framework of the Congress and Events subject, which seeks to motivate students in the world of the meetings industry, organizing events and strengthening them within the university institution.

 

As reported by the professor of the Tourism program, María Fernanda Moreno Prado, the panelists invited to this event, presented the process of their experiences and the necessary qualifications to strengthen it from an administrative and financial point of view. "They also showed the importance of creating and generating new business alternatives and new sources of employment in a sector that has been hit hard in this time of health emergency."

 

The contributions of the panelists, allowed to visualize the different points of view of the sector, from the processes of the enterprises they have built; such as, for example, Elkin Alejandro Córdoba who is founder and legal representative of Destino Tours travel agency; Stefania Mazabuel, founder of the Las Alicias farm, who leads a process of female entrepreneurs through providing gastronomic and agrotourism experiences in a rural area of ​​the municipality of Popayán. Also Michael Molina Cruz, serving as CEO of El Encanto Nature Reserve and naturalist guide of Manakin Nature, recognized nationally and internationally as one of the best places to watch birds in Colombia.

 

Following to this intervention was held the interview of the professional in Tourism Ana Rivera who currently works as CTel's project manager at the CreaTIC Technological Development Center.

 

Each one under their knowledge and experience on the subject, emphasized tourism organizations, their contribution to society and the environment; and finally Lizeth Golondrino, who presented her family initiative through a video of Lake El Bolsón.

 

“The speakers emphasized the importance of promoting new companies, of starting to build our own dreams, the value of putting theory into practice; They also emphasized that the crisis is only in our minds, since from each difficulty new possibilities arise to see tourism and the great challenges that it brings; that despite the fact that the sector was paralyzed due to the pandemic, the enterprises were activated to reinvent themselves, strengthen themselves and adapt themselves to be more responsible, sustainable and competitive with everything that is to come ”.
