Unicauca Academic Council, committed with the pedagogy of post-conflict

The university organized a discussion panel with representatives of political sectors and law enforcement sector.

The symposium was attended by the representative Oscar Ospina, Hernando Jorge Herrera, commander of Brigade 29 of the National Army of Colombia and theAntolínez Jorge Rivera from the National Police who discussed about the peace process and post-conflict.

During his speech, House Representative by the Department of Cauca referred to various regional issues and the role of academia in developing solutions.

"In order to talk of building a lasting peace, we must address the causes of conflict with a development model that meets the conditions and unmet basic needs of the population," he said.

Similarly, highlighted the role of Alma Mater in the approach areas of debate on victims of development in the Cauca and conflicts that arise over territory among different population groups.

"The University of Cauca should propose the country a permanent space for discussion of various topics that are part of a department that has lived experiences of demobilization and the impacts that  those experiences have generated in the local context," he added.
