Unicauca among the best higher education institutions in the country: Ranking Art-Sapiens
With the location in position No. 20, our University maintains a stable position in the Ranking of the best universities in Colombia in publication of articles.
The eighth version of the Art-Sapiens Ranking, by the Colombian organization Sapiens Research, analyzed 362 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), within which, by complying with specific exclusion criteria, 245 were classified. The period of time used for said classification, it covered the production of articles published between January and December 2021 by the research groups of HEIs classified in categories A1, A, B and C according to reports from the institutional GrupLAC.
Art Sapiens performs a global measurement of performance based on five criteria that we share below:
1. Articles published in Colombia (Colombian magazines). Assigned weight: 10%
2. Articles published abroad (foreign magazines). Assigned weight: 30%
3. Articles published in Spanish. Assigned weight: 10%
4. Articles published in English. Assigned weight 30%
5. Countries where these articles are published. Assigned weight 20%
The performance of Unicauca in this ranking has been stable in recent years, where records of position 27, 24 and 14 have been obtained for the last three years. Regarding the year 2023, we are pleased to share that we are ranked No. 20 among HEIs in general, No. 10 among public HEIs, and No. 3 among those located in the Colombian Southwest.
Being among the ten public universities and being the third in the Southwest is an achievement that should be recognized, not only because for this version, our Alma Mater managed to generate collaboration networks with 29 countries, but also because its performance was evaluated in terms of local, regional or international impact in the production of articles, taking into account the nationality of the journals where the publications have been generated, as well as the language, to give an idea of its breadth and visibility.
