UNICAUCA presents its first Architecture Program cohort

With the presence of the rector José Luis Diago Franco, of the academic vice-rector, Luis Guillermo Jaramillo, of the dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Aldemar José Fernández, and professors of this academic unit, the ceremony of welcome to the first cohort of the Program Of Architecture of the University of Cauca.

Within the framework of the event one of the central acts was the planting of two guayacan trees on the university campus as an allegory at the beginning and the basis of an academic project that has been consolidated and which hopes to show the best results.
 

"They are two trees of guayacán, one pink and one yellow, with which we want to symbolize the birth of the program; As well as to the tree, that we will see it grow and lay branches, surely flowers for a long time, that is the conception we have of the Program of Architecture cemented here in Civil Engineering, which will remain for a very long time and from there we will have Many achievements, "said Aldemar José González Fernández, dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
 

In the sowing, several of the teachers who will be in charge of this program participated, together with Sandra Lorena Papamija Quinayás, student who obtained the highest score to study Architecture during the admission process of the Alma Mater.
 

"With all the expectations, I have felt very good, I think I am prepared for this, and being here is already an inspiration for my growth as a professional," said the student, graduated from the Tomas Cipriano de Mosquera Technical Educational Institution of Popayan .

 

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, emphasized that because of its high relevance, the faculty in charge adopts these pioneers of architecture as an essential element for the development of daily work and around which "we will concentrate all our Efforts to ensure that not only this promotion, which we hope to achieve in 5 years, but from there continue to strengthen the program as the other Civil Engineering programs.
 

The engineer González Fernández finally emphasized that the graduate of the Unicaucano Architecture Program will be characterized by three very important aspects: creation, art and the technical part, "fundamental bases around which we will teach our chairs and through which we will form To each of the students. "
