La Universidad -

According to the measurement of the audience conducted in November 2019 by the firm “Cifras y Conceptos”, on the national and regional information that has the greatest impact on public opinion; Unicauca Stereo 104.1 F.M station occupies a prominent place of favorableness in the regional sphere.

The results of the eleventh measurement of the Opinion Panel carried out at the end of November 2019 by the firm “Cifras y Conceptos”, indicate that Unicauca Stereo radio station 104.1 FM, obtained 8% of audience preference at the departmental level, the coordinator of this means of institutional communication of the University of Cauca, María Alejandra Medina said.

Unicauca Stereo station appears for the second consecutive year in this measurement; in 2018 it obtained 3%, being in sixth place in the Cauca area; in 2019, it rose five points of favorability, from the percentage of people who affirm their preference for Unicauca Stereo, as a radial mean of information.

This company specialized in audience measurements, applies an annual survey to opinion leaders, to whom it asks open-ended questions. "This is very significant for us, because when opinion leaders are asked which stations they listen to, without giving them some options, they immediately respond: Unicauca Stereo," said the coordinator.

As Unicauca Stereo is a public interest station, the Ministry of ICT does not allow it to have a transmitter greater than five kilowatts, unlike other radio media that appear in the survey. Despite this unevenness, the audience's preference for radio content of the Alma Mater radio station, both musical and informative, is evident.

It is noteworthy that the opinion leaders' opinion is very important, because it affects other listeners. Opinion leaders are characters from public life, including deputies, councilors, mayors, governors, teachers, rectors, amongst others. It is very important to know that we are being heard by people who know about the work we do in the Unicauca station and who value that quality, said the communicator Medina.

Unicauca Stereo programming grid is wide and in the last year it has been strengthened, especially in the informative area, this is a recognition for the groups of musical programs, and content conformed by students, teachers, administrators, even external people, articulated with the same purpose.

The support received from the President of the Alma Mater, José Luis Diago Franco and other departments of the University of Cauca, has allowed Unicauca Stereo to advance as a mean of communication that is projected as a regional and national information leader. What has also allowed contributing to the institutional project “Towards a University Committed to Territorial Peace”, fundamental for the peaceful coexistence of the region.
