Vaccination Day against COVID19 began in the Health Unit

With the first 20 vaccines delivered by the Ministry of Health of Popayán, the Health Unit of the University of Cauca began today the vaccination day against COVID19 for affiliates over 80 years of age.

 

Twenty affiliates of the Health Unit, over 80 years of age, were the first to receive the COVID19 vaccine on the day that started today and which had the good organization of this university EPS and the support of the 'Alfonso University Health Center López ', in three vaccination points that were adapted for this purpose.

 

“We have been working hand in hand with the municipal and departmental Health Secretariat to implement the National Vaccination Plan for COVID-19, preparing the logistics to serve our population of 2700 users, at the three vaccination points with vaccination sites registry and a post-vaccination observation room following the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection”indicated Jesús Alberto Carvajal, Director of the Health Unit of the University of Cauca.

 

He added that the vaccination days continue as the vaccine arrives in the country and is assigned to comply with the vaccination of our entire population that is directly characterized. It is noteworthy that in stage 5 there are the youngest people, those under 50 years of age to adolescents over 16 years of age, who are the target population of the National Vaccination Day.

 

The Director of the Health Unit thanked the support provided by the 'Alfonso López' University Health Center, under the direction of Professor Omaira Espinosa, who was in charge of one of the three points that were prepared to carry out this first day that the protocols indicated by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection were complied with.

 

Similarly, the Municipal Health Secretary, Oscar Ospina Quintero, who was also aware of the development of the day, highlighted the organization that the Health Unit had. "We are in the Health Unit of the University of Cauca, happy to see the organization at this vaccination point, and that adults over 80 are being vaccinated, we started with twenty but the idea is that next week we can finish this process with this population. We have applied 80 percent of the assigned vaccines which indicates that we are preparing to take on this challenge”, he indicated.

 

Professor Omaira Espinosa, Director of the 'Alfonso López' University Health Center, expressed admiration for the organization of the Health Unit to provide spaces, staff and equipment in the realization of this conference, with an information point, attention to users who expressed their satisfaction.

 

The Health Unit reminded users that during the days that are scheduled there will be no care in other areas, in order to avoid congestion and agglomerations and to be able to provide the best support at the time of vaccination.
