With the end of the semester drawing ever closer, the time also arrives to reflect with gratitude toward those who have devoted their lives to this shared home that is our University, a true #HeritageOfAll, without forgetting, of course, that our most valuable heritage is our Unicaucana community! For that reason, on this occasion we pay tribute to a professor whose influence will endure in those who have the privilege of sharing with her not only a classroom, but also the transformative power of words and critical thought. Such is Professor Patricia Aristizábal Montes, the woman who today invites us to celebrate her legacy.

Without a doubt, many corners of our classrooms hold an echo of her teachings; unforgettable moments that have left deep marks on her students, on her colleagues, and on herself, shaping her own life. This full professor has an academic background that stands as a tangible testimony to her dedication and love for knowledge: she holds a diploma in Philosophy and Letters from the University of Caldas, a Master’s degree in Spanish American Literature from the Caro y Cuervo Institute, and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Montreal, Canada. Over the years, she has guided numerous generations of students, bringing depth and sensitivity to the study of women’s voices in literature. “Research in women’s literature arose from my interest in working on nineteenth-century women writers, and from there I moved on to women writers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries,” shared Professor Patricia, thus revealing her passion for recovering stories that have been silenced.
