Within the framework of the 90th anniversary of the Faculty of Education Sciences at the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia (UPTC), the VIII International Congress on Research and Pedagogy also hosted the II International Congress on Teacher Education “Alianza Boyacá Educa” and the II International Congress on Psychopedagogy, establishing itself as a space for critical, interdisciplinary, and ethical dialogue on contemporary teaching and the challenges education faces amid current social and technological changes.
The congress, which brought together more than 3,200 participants, 50 speakers, and 20 thematic axes, became a forum for dialogue and reflection on the challenges of contemporary education. Drawing on the ideas of thinkers such as Michel Foucault and Gert Biesta, the concept of care was addressed as an ethical and human practice that transforms teaching into an act of freedom, awareness, and transcendence. Thus, beyond its academic nature, the gathering became a space of connection, where knowledge intertwined with sensitivity and commitment to an education that teaches, accompanies, listens, and transforms.
The professor’s participation reaffirms the role of the University of Cauca as an institution that promotes and encourages engagement in spaces for pedagogical reflection and educational innovation, opening pathways toward a more humane and conscious form of teaching. From the University of Cauca, institutional presence continues to be strengthened in national and international academic settings that promote a human, reflective, and transformative education.
