Within the framework of activities carried out by the Department of Telematics, attached to the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications at the University of Cauca, in collaboration with the company Ayté, certificates were awarded for the “Fábrica de Oportunidades” course.
The Fábrica de Oportunidades program stands out as an exceptional example of social responsibility and outreach for both Ayté and the University of Cauca. It is aimed at young people without access to technical or higher education studies. In this way, it invests in each student’s future, preparing them to contribute significantly to society and the national economy, while also providing the opportunity to enter the labor market. Students not only acquire technical skills but also develop a vision for improving their future.

In this second edition of the program, it received the support of the Department of Telematics at the University of Cauca, which designed a seven-month course combining theory and practice, covering topics from basic system concepts to advanced software development skills. Participants received solid academic training, complemented by hands-on experience in real projects.
On this occasion, the course was successfully completed by six students: María del Mar Troyano, Eider Urrego, Yineth Rivera, Sebastián Quinayás, Nicol Tapasco, and Cristian Yalanda, all from the Cauca department, who achieved the level of Junior Developers within the organization.
The closing event, held in December 2024, was attended by the Academic Vice-Rector, Aida Patricia Gonzáles; the Dean of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, Alejandro Toledo Tovar; and the Head of the Department of Telematics, Andrés Lara Silva, as well as engineers Nicolás Cerón Orozco, Technical Manager at Ayté, and César Ocampo Fletcher, Business Development Manager at Ayté.
The instructors were engineers Rafael Belalcázar, Andrés Bravo, and Edinson Chilito, all of whom are students in the Master’s and Doctorate programs in Telematics Engineering.
It is important to highlight that, during 2024, in collaboration with the Department of Telematics, Ayté also conducted the Ayté course, which, beyond being an elective course, serves as an opportunity to explore the development of serverless applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
This course, designed exclusively for students who have completed over 75% of the credits in the Telematics Technology program, offers an opportunity to learn directly from professionals at Ayté.
This educational experience combines theory and practice to prepare students not only to face current technological challenges but also to obtain professional AWS certifications. Participants in the first cohort experienced firsthand the challenges they will encounter in the labor market. In this regard, the Ayté Course represents a revolution in the way we interact with technology and the business world, as it ensures that our students graduate not only with knowledge but also with experience and vision.
The Ayté Course and the Fábrica de Oportunidades are gateways to new opportunities for students at the University of Cauca to participate and expand their technical knowledge, building a solid bridge toward a promising and socially responsible professional future.
