With solid experience in the public sector and a specialized focus on ethnic and territorial rights, the new director takes on the challenge of strengthening processes of comprehensive reparation and the guarantee of rights in this region of southern Colombia. Araujo Mulcué holds a specialization in Constitutional Law, a background that provides him with a broad understanding of fundamental guarantees and the legal framework that underpins land restitution policy in Colombia.

Over more than ten years of professional experience, he has held high-level technical and administrative roles. Most recently, he served as Coordinator of Ethnic Affairs and lead team lawyer at the URT Territorial Directorate in Córdoba, where he promoted the application of a differential approach in restitution processes. He also has experience with the Agency for Territorial Renewal (ART) in the department of Caquetá, which has allowed him to gain close insight into the social and territorial dynamics of southern Colombia.

His professional trajectory also includes work as a legal advisor in social and private sector organizations, strengthening his ability to engage in dialogue and interaction with vulnerable communities and ethnic groups.

With this appointment, the Land Restitution Unit reaffirms its commitment to advancing the guarantee of territorial rights in Putumayo, relying on the technical expertise and leadership of this graduate from the University of Cauca. His management will focus on consolidating processes that enable the safe return and formalization of land for its rightful owners, within a framework of respect for the autonomy of ethnic communities and the constitutional order.
