Professors and students from Unicauca’s Department of Administrative Sciences stand out during the 9th ASCOLFA Research Meeting

The presentations on Human Talent Management and Values by second-year students earned first place in the thematic areas of Knowledge Management and Organizational Management.

As part of the celebration of Administrator’s Day, the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente hosted the 9th ASCOLFA Southwestern Research Meeting and the 6th Research Seedbed Meeting, “Organizational Intelligence: Leadership, Transformation, and Sustainability.” During the event, held on November 6, five presentations authored by professors and students from the Department of Administrative Sciences of the University of Cauca were showcased.

In the thematic area of innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity, within the topic of knowledge management, the presentations “Tools for Knowledge Management in a Professional Training Program” and “Students’ Perception of Learning Outcomes” were delivered by students Juan Nicolás Clavijo and Angie Paola Claros Rodríguez, respectively.

For their part, the professors presented the following works: “Bibliometric Analysis Between Ethics and Project Management,” by Francisco Javier Ortega, Francisco Javier Gonzales, and Reinaldo Erazo Rodríguez; “Rethinking Human Talent Management for Knowledge Management,” by professors Elizabeth Toro Chalá and Saúl Jesús Pulido; and “Values in Second-Year Business Administration Students at a Public University in Popayán,” by professors Mercy Johana Valencia, Zamanda Correa Correa, and Reinaldo Erazo Rodríguez.

It is worth highlighting that the presentations on Human Talent Management and on Values in second-year students were awarded first place in the thematic areas of Knowledge Management and Organizational Management. “We are very proud and consider these initial results highly valuable within this new research endeavor that began this year, and which we are confident will continue to bring positive achievements,” stated Professor Yenni Angélica Conde, current Head of the Department of Administrative Sciences.

The professor added that encouraging research among students and faculty of a Business Administration program is essential for fostering a dynamic and proactive academic culture. “Research not only enriches the teaching–learning process, but also promotes critical thinking and innovation, skills that are essential in today’s business environment.”

In this regard, involving our students and faculty in research projects provides them with the opportunity to explore new ideas, solve real-world problems, and contribute to knowledge in the field of administration. “This not only strengthens their professional training, but also enhances the quality of our institution, positioning it as a benchmark in the creation of creative and effective solutions for the challenges of the business world,” she concluded.
