Professor Sandra is a nurse from the University of Cauca, with a specialization in Nephrological Nursing from the University of Valle. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Educational Innovation at ICESI University and serves as a faculty member in our School of Health Sciences. “My interest in and constant effort toward raising the visibility of the Nursing profession and the field of Nephrology have allowed me to build networks at both the national and international levels. I am part of the Latin American Association of Nephrological Nursing, and I have been a speaker at national and international events in countries such as Peru and Mexico, where I have had the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge on the management of critically ill patients with renal pathologies. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about nephrology, always focused on providing quality, comprehensive, and holistic care,” expressed Professor Sandra, reflecting her passion for her field of expertise.

It is worth noting that Professor Narváez is a founder of the Colombian Association of Nephrological Nursing, as she herself explains that this was a dream that began two years ago thanks to the initiative of five nurses passionate about Nephrology, who set out to improve the quality of care provided to patients with kidney disease and to raise the visibility of the field of Nephrological Nursing. For that reason, Professor Sandra shares that, “Taking on the presidency is a great personal and professional challenge, since Nephrological Nursing is a very demanding and noble profession that requires a deep vocation, and our work is fundamental to improving the quality of life of patients with these conditions.”
