This concert represents a cultural and artistic initiative of the Government of Change, led by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Knowledge and the Ministry of Education, bringing together on the same stage eight public universities: Atlantic University, University of Antioquia, University of Caldas, University of Cauca, National University of Colombia, Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia (UPTC), National Pedagogical University (UPN), and Industrial University of Santander (UIS). These institutions have joined the implementation of the presidential program across the country’s 32 departments.
The team of the Presidential Program Sounds for Peacebuilding, led in Zone 6 by the University of Cauca, will be present at this major event, which showcases an unprecedented interinstitutional synergy in educational, cultural, and artistic management among the universities implementing this initiative throughout the national territory.
Entretejido Sonoro “is a project that fosters social fabric through music. It has this unique quality because it brings many people together around these concerts and encourages them to reflect on the importance of weaving bonds of coexistence, bonds of emotional resonance that will help transform the imaginaries of violence we have carried,” explains Jorge Ignacio Zorro Sánchez, Vice Minister of Arts, Cultural and Creative Economy, who leads the presidential program.
The concert will feature the participation of a selection of national artists and guest performers, including symphonic bands from different regions of the country, Tambor Hembra, DJ Julián Cardona, John Alex del Castillo Cortes, the Caldas Symphony Orchestra, the Children’s Choir of the Eje region, the Putumayo Ensemble, María Mulata, Laura Sofía Rosas and her group from Casanare, Ensamble Cruzao, Diana Pereira “La Profe,” the Non-Conventional Percussion Ensemble “Perkutos,” and maestro Antonio Arnedo. In this way, the social fabric is strengthened through the sounds, rhythms, melodies, and cultural expressions that will fill the Teatro Los Fundadores.
Sounds for Peacebuilding demonstrates that, through pedagogy and cultural exchange, it is possible to create a lasting impact on communities and to foster a culture of peace across the regions. It is worth remembering that the national goal of Sounds for Peacebuilding is to reach 1,590 educational institutions in 687 municipalities, with 3,400 teaching artists and knowledge-bearer artists providing music education to 300,000 primary and secondary school students, in coordination with the National Network of Symphonic Music of the National Association of Symphonic Music through its circulation component.
The Entretejido Sonoro concert will feature a special broadcast by the public media system RTVC, allowing the country to witness, minute by minute, everything happening on the main stage and outside the theater during each performance.
