Unicauca member was a Keynote at the 2024 AmITIC International Congress: our Alma Mater shines in foreign lands

Professor César Jesús Pardo Calvache, affiliated with the Faculty of Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering, participated as one of the main speakers at the 7th International Congress on Environmental Intelligence, Software Engineering, and Electronic and Mobile Health (AmITIC 2024), held in the city of David, Panama, from September 25 to 27.

The city of David became the epicenter of technological innovation thanks to the 7th International Congress on Ambient Intelligence, Software Engineering, and Electronic and Mobile Health (AmITIC 2024), held from September 23 to 27 in the Republic of Panama. The event brought together researchers from countries such as Norway, Spain, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia and, of course, Panama. This important gathering convened experts and professionals from the technological field; an event in which Professor César Pardo from the University of Cauca stood out as one of the keynote speakers.

With his lecture “Challenges and Lessons Learned for Scaling Agile Approaches in Global Software Development,” the professor emphasized the importance of agility in an increasingly globalized and ever-changing work environment, as well as the challenges organizations face when implementing these methods. “Agile approaches are not just a trend; they are a necessity in today’s software development. However, scaling these methods requires a deep understanding of organizational culture and collaboration between geographically dispersed teams,” stated Professor Pardo.

In this way, AmITIC 2024 brought together hundreds of professionals from the technology sector, representing diverse regions and fostering a rich exchange of ideas and experiences. Thus, the presence of Professor César as a keynote speaker, one of the main presenters, highlights the role of our Alma Mater as a leading institution in the training of professionals in technology and innovation.

During the Unicaucano-branded lecture, there was a dynamic interaction with the audience, creating a space to discuss practical cases and effective strategies for implementing agile approaches in various contexts.

The audience’s enthusiastic response reflected a strong interest in delving deeper into the topic and exploring solutions to the challenges presented. Thus, AmITIC 2024 concluded with a call to action to promote a culture of collaboration and continuous learning in the field of software development, thereby driving the growth of the technology sector.

Without a doubt, events that aim to strengthen ties and collaborations with high-quality international universities, fostering research stays and joint projects, are strategic opportunities that must not be overlooked.

Furthermore, the GTI Research Group, together with Professor César Pardo, will continue developing research with significant impact on the industrial, social, and health sectors.

Confident that Professor César Pardo will continue taking part in academic spaces, further enriching his work as a faculty member of our Alma Mater, we extend our congratulations for his outstanding participation in this international event and for upholding the reputation of our University, which, on its path toward its bicentennial, continues to strengthen itself as a center of education with the highest standards.
