The Specialization Program in Construction Engineering seeks to give an answer to training needs and development in an engineering field that has undergone major advances in recent years.

The scientific and technological development has made possible a deep and accurate knowledge of materials and modern technologies used in the construction of civil infrastructure works.  Those technological advances should be disseminated and applied in solving the problems that normally arise in a developing country.

The emergence of new equipment, materials, quality specifications and construction processes requires the engineers to be prepared to respond effectively and creatively to new challenges presented to them in construction field.

The Universidad del Cauca has qualified teachers with extensive professional experience as teachers, consultants and researchers.  The university also has material, structures, floors and pavements laboratories adequately staffed with qualified personnel and modern equipment for material characterization, quality control and researching.  The University of Cauca has won a prestige for its competence to work in the field of construction due to the respectability gained by the seriousness in conducting the tests and results management.

The conceptualization and growth of specialization and master programs will be an important foundation for the structuring and implementing of a Ph.D. Program in Engineering at the University of Cauca.

 

Degree: Specialist in Constrution Engineering.

Schedule: Requires part-time dedication. The academic activities will be Fridays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Modality: The classes are held in a classroom setting.

Duration: Three (3) Semesters.
