Graduate Specialization in General Surgery

The formation of a comprehensive human resource and highly qualified, oriented towards the study, diagnosis, promotion, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of pathologies of surgical order with teaching, research, labor, and social projection, widens the range of professional work, allowing him/her to participate in leadership within society. Thus contributing to improving the physical and mental well being of the individual in modern society immersed in social, economic, political, cultural, and religious conflicts, which increasingly limit the individual, family, and social overcoming.

The area aims to provide comprehensive training to graduate students in each of different levels, key elements in his/her formation.

At level one, a review of the research methodology, Medicine based on Evidence, Medical Anthropology, and Bioethics. In the second level, they continue with critical reading, evidence-based Medicine, computer science, and the humanistic social area with education, pedagogy, and communication.  In the third level, It is determined all the aspects that make connection with the final presentation of the research. It is important to the socio-humanistic module in which training is received in all administrative aspects that address health must be known not only in law but also in strategic management.

Profile

The graduate committee defines the opening of programs and determines the number of seats, which is conducted annually. The prerequisites, and the basic selection criteria that candidates must meet for registration are studied, which are supported by the Faculty Council requesting approval by the Academic Council who issued the relevant agreement.
