Graduate Specialization in Roadway Engineering

Specialization Program in roadway Engineering follows the guidelines of a program of specialization in accordance with the Decree 1001 of April 2006.  The main objective of the program is to train professionals of Civil Engineering in the knowledge of roadways, in greater depth than general concepts that are taught at the undergraduate level.

Although Transportation Engineering is a very broad concept, the program, offered by the University of Cauca, focuses on roadways.  The specialization seeks to train individuals with broad discretion to make decisions toward road network planning, work designing, construction and maintenance of the roadways.  The engineers keep a close relation to regional and national problems and make decisions based on technical foundations to justify investment in the community.

The curriculum structure is organized by subjects and academic activities with broad approaches that may explain the heterogeneity and diversity of cases presented in each road infrastructure project.

The main aspects of specific issues are addressed sharing courses with doctoral programs, researching programs, masters, other specializations, courses and continuing education courses.
