Master of Chemical Sciences
The Master of Science Chemistry belongs to the Department of Chemistry, which is part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Exact and Education.
The Master of Science - Chemistry has been designed to enhance the scientific and technological leadership of the university in the region and strengthen social outreach through research activity.
The programs contributes to the formation of human resources and the progress of the department of Cauca and the country, by developing research proposals in basic and applied chemistry. It also strengthens the relationship between science, technology and the community. The program has the support of research groups that are part of the Chemistry Department, graded B and D according to the scale of the Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation - Colciencias
The curriculum has 52 academic credits, which are covered in two years:
In the first year the students take Theoretical Foundations Subjects including Theory I, Theory II and Theory III, Project Formulation, two Seminars and the Emphasis Courses, related to the five Graduate Emphasis, that the program offers:
a) Natural Products
b) Environmental Chemistry
c) Chemistry Food Analysis
d) Synthesis, Characterization and Application of Materials
e) Soil and Organic Matter.
During the second year the students develop the research activities and associated workshops. - SNIES 90909, Resolution by the Ministry of Education 10202 of November 22, 2010.
Place where it is offered: Popayan
Schedule: 14 hours a week.
Modality: The classes are held in a classroom setting.
Duration: Four (4) semesters.
