Research Lines

Subject, Pedagogical Knowledge, and Science.

This line of research aims to extend in the question, what do we want to be science, knowledge, pedagogy, curriculum, and didactic for Latin America and Colombia in the third millennium? The question is an invitation to think about other possibilities to construct knowledge from the subjectivities of the Amerindian peoples that we are yet without parochialism and exclusives, but in a permanent dialogue between knowledge and cultures. This aims to capture the progress made, create a synthesis of the process lived,  reunite in a single  space the curriculum, university lines and the teaching of the science, to rethink Colombian education in general and universities in particular, since its done pedagogical research, in order to form high-quality doctors as historical subjects and future builders. Science and non-science join now; Our fractionated skills have produced ignorance and arrogance, our knowledge is a not-knowing, so we need to know from other spaces, a new culture and learn where culture and education; body, mind, spirit; brain and organism; thought, history, and context melt and we provide it with vital sense. What is the point of keeping outdated  a priori categories of analysis? Can they help us understand our present historical reality? What’s more, what does reality really mean? The global, the local, of the subject?  We dare to make us more questions and not settle for immediate answers.

Culture, Language and Communication.

This line demand that the study of culture, language, and communication is establish on the horizon of education. This indicates a diachronic and synchronic view of these institutions to determine the various ways in which intelectual education, communication, industry, and institutions in the public political relations have been considered:  communication-education. Communication-culture, education-culture, language-communication, language-culture, language-education.  Therefore, this line of research opens two universes of communication: interpersonal communication, including language, proxemics and kinesis and media communication. This line is basically guided by a socio-cultural conception, discursive and interactive language, and other symbolic practices of communication. From this conception acquires centrality the construction of meaning through multiple signs, codes, and ways to symbolize significance given in complex discursive, historical, social, and cultural processes. In this sense, language, signification, and communication imply a not only linguistic but socio-cultural perspective. This perspective implies that in the investigation of these relationships, and with the purpose of not limit ourselves to the study of representations or symbolic, we give input to social transformations, which include social movements, social sectors and human groups.
