The Nursing Program is part of the programs offered in the Faculty of Health Sciences and was created by agreement No 10 of February 26, 1970, issued by the Superior Council of the University of  Cauca.
Qualified Registration No 10573, December 2009 for 7 years.

Accredited program through the following administrative acts:

- Resolution No 3422 of December 29, 2003 of the Ministry of National Education, Accreditation awarded for a period of three (3) years.
- Resolution No 3572 of June 16, 2008 of the Ministry of National Education, Accreditation awarded for a period of four (4) years.

It was worthy of Recognition Luis Lopez de Meza, issued by the Presidency of the Republic on December 4, 2004.

Currently the Nursing Program is in the process of Curriculum Renewal and restoration of the Accreditation.

The Nursing Program at the University of Cauca is oriented towards the formation of a professional able to meet four fundamental reponsabilities: to promote health, prevent illness, restore health, and to alleviate suffering.

According to the mission of the University of Cauca, professors assigned to the Nursing Program fulfill the functions of teaching, research, and social interaction, in order to contribute to the ongoing search of the disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge , the dissemination of scientific knowledge and the contribution to the solution of environmental problems.

Schedule: Day classes.

Modality: The classes are held in a classroom setting. 

Duration: Ten (10) semesters.

Admission: Semiannual.
