Speech Therapy

The Speech Therapy Program is part of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Cauca and was created by Agreement No 051, September 1997, issued by the Supreme Council.

This academic program aims for the training of skilled professionals, using criteria that underlie knowing, being, and doing in the operation of the processes of human communication and its disorders. Search the integration of research, teaching, and social interaction, in order to provide optimal service, consistent with the needs of the medium under the established curricular implications based on the law in force. Its curriculum is designed to train professional in key areas, social and humanistic discipline.

At the national level, the Speech Therapy Program at the University of Cauca has been known for its performance in the Tests Saber-Pro, ranking in the top five since 2003. It is important to highlight the outreach work performed from undergraduate practices,  at the research level, has the research group “Human Communication and its disorders”, which is registered in the Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Cauca and active in Colciencias (COL0046479), which develops  research projects proposed by teachers with students participation.

Its graduates have continued postgradual training processes in Administration, Audiology, Speech, Occupational Health, and positioned themselves not only nationally but also internationally, making up the name of the program and the University.

Duration: Ten (10) semesters.

With Resolution No 905 of February 28, 2007, issued by the Ministry of National Education and registered at SNIES 5268, was awarded the Qualified Register for this program at the University of Cauca.
