Political Science Program

The political science program is part of the Faculty of Law, Political and Social Sciences of the University of Cauca and was created in 1996.  By  Resolution7225 of October 24,2008 issued by the ministry of National Education and registered under the National Higher Education Information(SNIES), was granted the Qualifies Registration for this program at the University of Cauca.

 

Profiles:

The political scientist graduated from this University should encourage and foster ethical qualities, humanists,  responsibility and leadership. He/She should show knowledge and understanding of the political, legal, economic, cultural,  and social reality.  Also, He/She can make a critical analysis of concrete situations, the search for solutions and explanations. Must have basic and specific knowledge theoretical and factual, about the origin, operation, development and dynamics of the political, legal, and administrative institutions.

The program offers three fields of professional activity, corresponding to a specific area or sector in which the future political scientist may perform professionally:

• Activities of direction, leadership, guidance, planning, negotiation, research, evaluation, and advisory council in public or private entities, agencies of State Control; organizations that do not belong to the government, unions; commercial enterprises, service and industrial companies that could be public or private, mainly in their management of human resources and administrative organization.
•Activities of political communication, both for the public – regional, national, and international issues-, and staff, through the media ( newspapers, radio and television) , and especially as political marketing analyst ; communication services for the Country or for private companies; advisory services and counseling political staff.
• Research and university teaching in the areas of knowledge related to political science, administration, law and sociology.
