In the twenty years of “Urdimbre”, Unicauca strengthens the teacher's training as a researcher

With different activities and spaces for academic reflection, the “Urdimbre” Group of the University of Cauca, celebrated 20 years producing knowledge and training researchers.

 

With the lecture "The Three Lives of a Latin King", dictated by Carles Feixa Pámpols, academic and scientist who was trained at the University of Barcelona, ​​Spain, and with the discussion: Research in the Training of Educators, the Interdisciplinary Group " Urdimbre”celebrated two decades dedicated to research in social sciences related to the body, the subject and culture from motor skills, knowledge and creativity.

 

This teaching research group, created at the University of Cauca on December 2, 2000 by Professor Deibar René Hurtado, invited prominent Latin American intellectuals to take part in its commemoration activities, including the Chilean Carlos Alberto Moreno; the Brazilian Santiago Pich; as well as to the Peruvian Giovanni Corvetto and in representation of Colombia to Deibar René Hurtado Herrera, current vice-rector of Culture and Well-being of the Alma Mater and leader of “Udimbre”.

 

This research group, which was called "Udimbre", because it was created as a set of actions that are carried out as united threads to form the fabric of shared knowledge, was recognized and escalated by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Minciencias) by its important contribution to different research, analysis and study projects from social practices and for its outstanding pedagogical experience articulating teaching.

 

Likewise, in the cultural and well-being agenda developed by the Vice-rector's Office for Culture and Well-being, Urdimbre is also present in the research on youth as social subjects; This activity was born from a work that also supports the line of research in communication, education and culture of the Master of Education; in addition, it supports the line of Research in Language, Culture and Communication of the Doctorate in Educational Sciences of the University of Cauca ", indicated the director of the group" Urdimbre "Deibar René Hurtado Herrera.

 

He stated that with the creation of “Grupo Urdimbre” from the Bachelor of Basic Education program with an emphasis on Physical Education, Recreation and Sports, qualitative research in education was strengthened for the training of teachers as researchers in the classroom.

 

In this context, the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Sports was created; likewise, a group was formed to promote academic reflection in the field of research from physical education, recreation and sports for the training of graduates and in the future, specialists, master's degrees, directors in the field of social sciences and education.

 

The work carried out by the Urdimbre group throughout its 20 years of work, has trained both undergraduate, master's and doctoral students, which has made it possible to strengthen the proposal of the Master of Education and consolidate the line of Education, Communication and Culture; later, it lent its contest for the creation of the Master's Program in Education, Body and Motor Studies; In addition, it is one of the groups that supports the Doctorate in Educational Sciences at the University of Cauca, said Professor Hurtado Herrera.
