Unicauca opens the doors of its University Residences for the first semester of 2026

More than just housing, it’s a space to grow and dream big: if you are pursuing an undergraduate program at Unicauca, your family lives outside Popayán, and you need support to continue your educational journey, the University Residences are for you. So pay close attention, because the call to make this place your second home is now open! Until October 6, 2025, you can apply for a spot in this space that provides a dignified, safe home full of support on your academic path.

Universidad del Cauca offers Student University Residences, a recently inaugurated space with capacity for 188 young people, designed to provide you with a dignified home if you are enrolled in an undergraduate program, have limited financial resources, and your family resides outside Popayán.

This service is a fundamental support to ensure that nothing stands in the way of your education, so that economic barriers or lack of adequate housing do not prevent you from realizing your professional dreams.

That is why, from the Vice-Rectory of Culture and Wellbeing, we invite you to be part of this experience and apply for the call, open until October 6, 2025, which applies to the first academic period of 2026.

We want to accompany you in your university journey, offering not only a dignified place to live but also comprehensive support and permanent guidance, so you can focus on what really matters: your education.

 

Requirements to Apply? Read Carefully:

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate program at the Popayán campus.
  • Have a GPA of 3.4 or higher (except for first-time entrants).
  • Not reside in the municipality of Popayán.
  • Not hold a professional, technical, or technological degree.
  • Have an active enrollment in at least 70% of the semester’s credits.

Key Dates of the Process:

  • Application Deadline: October 6, 2025
  • Document Review: until October 17, 2025
  • Document Correction: until October 31, 2025
  • Socioeconomic Study and Psychological Assessment: until November 21, 2025
  • Assignment of Spots: December 2, 2025
  • Publication of Results: December 5, 2025

 

How to Formalize Your Application?

You must complete three main steps:

1. Fill out the registration form at: Registration Form.

2. Download and complete the benefits request form: PA-GU-7-FOR-16 V3 Form.

3. Upload all required documents in a single PDF file identified with the applicant’s full name.

Applicants must gather and upload the following documents in a single PDF file:

  • Identification document.
  • Certificate of residence with socioeconomic status.
  • Electricity bill for the month of July.
  • Work certificate of guardian or sworn statement (if applicable).
  • Paid tuition receipt.
  • Recent photograph (according to the University Wellbeing instructions).
  • Medical certificate in case of disability.

How does the process work? These are the stages for assigning spots:

The selection process will take place in three mandatory stages:

1. Socioeconomic study.

2. Psychological assessment.

3. Academic evaluation and document verification.

It is important to note that up to two appointments for interviews or home visits may be scheduled. Unjustified absence will be grounds for exclusion from the process.
