Unicauca students are finalists in Huawei ICT Competition 2022-2023

Andrea Oime, Adrián Otoya and William Burbano, from the Network team, Daniela Valencia Mellizo, Jarby Daniel Salazar and Andrés Felipe Jojoa from the Cloud team, are the students of the Electronic Engineering program at the University of Cauca, who thanks to their good academic performance and teamwork are the finalists of the Huawei ICT Competition 2022-2023, and are waiting to find out if they will participate in the Global Final in China

Thanks to the agreement between the University of Cauca and the Huawei Academy, ICT career students have the opportunity to participate in the Huawei ICT Competition, a space that gives them the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice and access new opportunities.

 

In this way, the Electronic Engineering students: Andrea Oime, Adrián Otoya, William Burbano, Daniela Valencia Mellizo, Jarby Daniel Salazar and Andrés Felipe Jojoa, entered the competition by participating, in a first phase, in a test among their classmates in the program. and those who had the best score continued to the next phase, which consisted of a competition between different universities in the country.

In this way they classified and passed to the third phase among the best students in Latin America. “This is a global call, that is, not only Colombia or Latin America participates, but in general the whole world, and more than 150,000 students, more than 2,000 universities and more than 85 countries in total are part of this call,” says Daniela. Valencia Mellizo, student belonging to the Cloud team.

 

The six students are awaiting the results of the latest tests that took place in the city of Bogotá on March 7. “They gave us a range of 15 days in which they will evaluate the tests and the answers that we deliver and now we hope, in our case as Universidad del Cauca, to be able to qualify for the global stage where we will face the finalists from all over the world. that it can be in China”, tells us the student Andrea Oime, from the Network team.

We hope that the students can be part of the global final and take the great title, from the University of Cauca we celebrate the achievements of their entire process and we thank them for leaving the name of our Alma Mater high, demonstrating the quality of our academic training and the commitment to train the best professionals from a University of Excellence and Solidarity.
