Students from Unicauca present their academic work during the XXIV Colombian Congress of Mathematics 2025
Held from June 2 to 6 at the Technological University of Pereira, the event brings together Colombia’s mathematical community to share advancements, ideas, and collaborative efforts within the discipline.
Sixteen students from the Mathematics program at the University of Cauca are presenting their research during the 24th Colombian Congress of Mathematics 2025, taking place from June 2 to 6 at the Technological University of Pereira.
The students from Unicauca, whose academic work is endorsed by Professor Henry Laniado from the Department of Mathematics, are part of a national community that exchanges ideas, progress, and collaborations in an event filled with lectures, specialized sessions, poster presentations, mini-courses, and more.

In this context, the students are showcasing their research projects at the most important mathematics event in Colombia. They are:Cristian Fernando Domínguez Muñoz and María Alexandra Yandy González, with their work: “Anomaly detection in crime data in Colombia using Benford’s law.”
