During the working sessions led by the Technological University of Tunja, the representatives of the dynamizing committees from the universities implementing the program in different departments of the country shared the progress of the pedagogical strategy that is transforming lives through musical training processes in school environments.
In this space, social mapping activities were carried out around different categories of territorial analysis and their particularities, allowing the identification of contextual elements that enriched the dialogues on peacebuilding from a perspective of diversity.
In addition, a space was created for cultural knowledge keepers to share their wisdom regarding the artistic and ancestral richness of our country, calling for sensitivity and appreciation of the traditional knowledge held by communities.
This meeting allowed the team from the University of Cauca to share the challenges, strengths, and opportunities of the pedagogical strategy for Zone 6, represented through three key moments: Spinning, Braiding, and Linking. “We prepare the fleece to spin, we join the fibers in a braid, and finally we interlace the weavings to give shape and meaning to our musical practice.”
To look at Cauca, Huila, and Nariño through music is to glimpse an illusion of social and historical interweavings that converge through artistic, musical, culinary, and many other forms of expression, manifestations that have shaped a unique identity fighting against frustration and the melancholy of memories of shared ancestors who, through their art, resist fading away. It is an identity that stands firmly against the actors of violence who seek to silence the originality of what is truly our own in the territories we are called to accompany,” stated Inés Guerrero Arciniegas, pedagogical leader of Zone 6.
