Since her arrival at the University of Cauca North Campus, located in Santander de Quilichao, Angélica has found an environment that values both knowledge and human quality. In this space, she has shared experiences with students full of dreams and colleagues committed to education. Among her most meaningful memories, she highlights an anecdote that reflects the respect and empathy present within the University of Cauca community: “Anecdotes, I think I could share them almost daily. Being a professor at a public university and also a Muslim woman wearing a hijab arouses curiosity among my students, colleagues, and everyone who works at the campus. With each of them, I try to maintain a kind relationship and I am always willing to answer their questions about my lifestyle. One of my colleagues from the office, who works in another department, very kindly apologized for preparing his coffee and not being able to offer me any because I was in my month of fasting. This was very meaningful and beautiful to me, as it showed his human quality and sensitivity. Like this, I have many anecdotes, but almost all point to the kindness, courtesy, and hospitality of a community that, despite difficulties, always smiles at me and is willing to be empathetic,” Professor Angélica shared warmly.

In addition, this beloved professor has found in the North Campus of the Alma Mater a welcoming space that, beyond being her workplace, has become a true home. “Working at the University of Cauca has provided me with economic, professional, and personal stability. I am a mother of three children, and they are very happy with this change in our home. The University of Cauca, North Campus, is a welcoming place; sometimes I bring my children so they can participate in the activities organized by the University or simply spend some time with me while I work. My workspace is peaceful, and I try to be here as much as possible, as it facilitates attention to my students and interaction with colleagues from other fields of knowledge.”
