The hallways of our University were transformed into a captivating journey through innovative ideas, detailed models, and new ways of imagining the territory. The exhibition “ARQUI EXHI-VISIONES 2025-2” brought together students from different academic levels, who presented in the exhibition space the result of months of work in the classroom. These projects turned architectural concepts into visual experiences that connected visitors and jurors with the very essence of design.
In this edition, the students of the Architecture Program presented projects developed in the course “Project Workshops,” a core component that accompanies their trajectory from the first to the ninth semester. Through models and panels, themes such as habitable space, site placement and function, multifamily buildings, and urban proposals with an emphasis on public space were explored. These lines of inquiry challenge future architects to think beyond the plan, fostering a holistic approach in their education.
The exhibition, open to the university community and to the public interested in a kind of open house, allowed attendees to closely observe the creative and academic process of the students, whose work is evaluated by invited jurors. For Estefanía Arango Cuartas, professor of the Architecture Program, this space has become a formative and outreach showcase: “ARQUI EXHI-VISIONES allows us to present the final projects of the workshops, which are the backbone of the program. Each level addresses a different theme and reflects the comprehensive education we seek. Each year we have more external guests, which strengthens the visibility of the program and the efforts of our students.”
Thus, with the use of advanced technological tools, the designs have reached an increasing level of complexity. Concepts, details, and digital representations bring each model to life, transporting the audience to scenarios that reflect the architectural potential of those being trained at the University of Cauca.
In this way, the University of Cauca reaffirms, through initiatives like this, its commitment to the education of professionals capable of critically reading their environment and proposing innovative solutions to the challenges of the territory. “ARQUI EXHI-VISIONES” not only showcases the talent of its students, but also strengthens an academic culture based on rigor, creativity, and collaborative work. In a world that demands comprehensive responses and social sensitivity, these spaces become essential settings for cultivating an architecture with a human sense and a transformative vision. We are already preparing for the next edition, convinced that from this nearly bicentennial institution, we continue imagining and building possible futures through architecture!
