A Physical Engineering graduate from the University of Cauca presents in China his research work on Nuclear Engineering and Medicine

Luis Fernando Salas Tapia is pursuing doctoral studies at the University of Tokyo, where he is conducting a study on the production of radioisotopes for medical use.

The graduate of Physical Engineering from the University of Cauca, Luis Fernando Salas Tapia, participated from June 22 to 26 in the 32nd International Conference on Nuclear Engineering, an event that took place in the Chinese city of Weihai, where he presented his research article “Initial calculations of neutronics, neutron energy and neutron flux spectrum at Joyo fast reactor MK-IV core for radioisotope production purpose,” a highly important study of interest to medicine.

Luis Fernando Salas Tapia is pursuing his doctoral studies at the University of Tokyo, Japan, in the area of Nuclear Engineering, representing this institution with an oral presentation and his research work on the behavior of neutrons inside the Japanese Joyo nuclear reactor and the prospects of using this reactor for the production of radioisotopes, such as actinium Ac-225, for medical use.
