Representing the University of Cauca were Administrative Vice President Jorge Adrián Muñoz Velasco, along with César Alfaro Mosquera and Claudia Hurtado Triviño, program supervisor and director, respectively. Their active participation in the discussions reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to a process that today benefits thousands of children and young people in southwestern Colombia. The presence of the Vice President as the Rector’s delegate also constituted support for the implementation of the program by The Alma Mater of Cauca and for the work carried out by the teams leading its execution.

In the words of Claudia Hurtado Triviño, program director at the University of Cauca: “This meeting allowed us to highlight the power of the arts to transform territories and to reaffirm our university’s commitment. From Cauca, we continue to demonstrate that culture is a right and that, through arts education, more just, inclusive, and peaceful societies can be built.”

The closing was led by Minister Yannai Kadamani Fonrodona, who emphasized that the Arts for Peace Program “is the main cultural initiative of the Government of Change, because it recognizes in the arts not only a pedagogical tool, but also a transformative force for communities and a pillar for reconciliation.”

The outcome of the meeting conveyed a clear message: ties with the Ministry were strengthened, the management capacity of the University of Cauca was reaffirmed, and lines of action were outlined to optimize the program’s implementation. This path responds not only to institutional requirements, but also honors the university’s mission to contribute from the regions to peace, equity, and the country’s cultural transformation.
