With the aim of fostering attitudes that help young people from several schools in Popayán and Cajibío take on challenges, dream, create, and envision life projects, the Business Administration program at the University of Cauca, supported by the Center for Continuing, Open and Virtual Education (CECAV), through the Eureka Schools project, and in partnership with the Tomás Cipriano de Mosquera Technical Educational Institution, held the 1st Youth Congress: Discover the Power to Transform Your Future. The event took place on September 25th, within the framework of the 17th Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair.
The agenda included a forum with entrepreneurs from Popayán, as well as workshops delivered by professors from the Department of Administrative Sciences at Unicauca and by institutions such as SENA, Innpulsa, Coprocenva, the María Cano Foundation, and the Mundo Mujer Foundation. These sessions focused on topics such as entrepreneurship, leadership, financial education, and business ideation. In addition, students from the Business Administration program, serving as mentors, accompanied the young participants and future entrepreneurs in presenting their business ideas, using methodologies such as Canvas and product prototypes.
It is important to highlight that the event brought together more than 300 students from the El Mirador, República de Suiza, Comercial del Norte, and Francisco José de Caldas INEM Educational Institutions in Popayán, as well as from the La Capilla Rural Educational Institution in the municipality of Cajibío, Cauca.
Thus, through these spaces, the University of Cauca seeks to promote the development of creative and entrepreneurial skills among the region’s youth. Hence the importance of continuing to build alliances with diverse public and private entities and organizations, with the purpose of carrying out activities and events that enrich academic training and contribute to the social, economic, and cultural progress of the department. These collaborations create opportunities for learning, innovation, and entrepreneurship that positively impact the community, thereby strengthening the social fabric of the region.
