University of Cauca Philosophy Professors present their research work and strengthen inter-institutional academic ties

Between May 21 and 23, Professor Ángela Larrarte and Professors Bernardo Espinel and Yerson Y. Carrillo Ardila, affiliated with the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences at the University of Cauca, participated as speakers in the “2nd International Meeting of Philosophy, Experience, and Plural Contexts: Violence, Body, and Territory,” held at the University of Quindío in the city of Armenia.

During the event, the professors shared the progress of their research with a large academic community while strengthening ties with national and international colleagues. These gatherings not only enhance the exchange of knowledge but also open pathways for internationalization, collaborative research, and the social outreach of the University of Cauca.

Regarding the presentations, Professor Ángela Larrarte delivered a paper titled “The Dissolution of Experience in Late Modernity: A Commitment to an Embodied and Situated Philosophy”, a reflection that invites reconsideration of language and experience from new sensitive and transformative horizons. Meanwhile, Professor Bernardo Espinel paid a heartfelt tribute to the Valle del Cauca writer Gloria Cepeda Vargas with his presentation “Poetic Sensitivity as a Resilient Expression”, delivered within the framework of the Aesthetics and Art History panel. Likewise, Professor Yerson Y. Carrillo Ardila, who also served on the Executive Committee of the event, shared updates on the research project “The Notion of People: Conceptions, Representations, and Imaginaries of the Other (Phase 1)”, with ID 6284, endorsed by the Vice-Rectory for Research of the University of Cauca.

“This academic commission allowed us to strengthen research, academic, and collaborative ties with various national and international members of the International Network of Philosophy, Experience, and Plural Contexts, which will contribute to the formation of research teams aimed at generating and disseminating specialized knowledge on violence, the body, and the territory,” stated Professor Yerson Y. Carrillo Ardila.

In this regard, the University of Cauca proudly celebrates the participation of our professors in forums that reaffirm the value of philosophical thought as a tool to understand, transform, and heal the world we inhabit. These spaces strengthen our commitment to the production of rigorous, critical, and contextually grounded knowledge, and inspire us to continue promoting and participating in gatherings that foster academic dialogue and contribute to building a more just, reflective, and compassionate society.
