The University of Cauca has a Student Residence Hall with a capacity to accommodate 188 students. Its main purpose is to provide housing for active undergraduate students with limited financial resources whose families reside outside the municipality of Popayán. This service seeks to ensure that the most vulnerable students can continue their university studies without having to face the challenges of securing expensive or inadequate private housing.

Having access to safe and adequate housing while living away from home not only facilitates access to higher education, but also allows students to fully focus on their academic and personal development. As a safe and accessible environment, the residence hall provides conditions that promote students’ well-being, reducing the stress and logistical concerns associated with finding accommodation outside the university. In this way, it contributes to their emotional and physical stability, both of which are essential to their academic success.
