Bibliographic Databases

A database is a collection of information structured into records and stored on an electronic medium that can be read by a computer.

Databases allow us to:

  • Locate articles that address a topic of interest.
  • Review the abstract to verify the content.
  • Identify descriptors to refine the search.
  • Identify the authors and the institution they are affiliated with.
  • Identify the journals that publish on the topic.
